Week 6 INTERVIEW

Before this semester ends, conducting an interview is also our task, for us to be more aware about the our chosen career. Having a company to be interviewed is a great experience, it will enhance our communication skills and self confidence also it is a big test for us.

It’s really hard to find a multimedia base company here in Laguna our group decided just to search in this area because we don’t have much time to search in other places like Manila, etc. We decided to interview a Photo studio, the only things that made it more difficult is because some of the studio’s refusing to our request, though they are really busy and they don’t give some info about their business.

Luckily we found this studio named “Tom Loyola fine Digital Photography” in Calamba City that owned by Mr. Tom Loyola.

It’s really a great honor to have a conversation with Mr. Loyola because he did not only answered our questions but also he also give us some advice. For me he is man with a lots of talent also he is very approachable, may be because he came to a theater arts school. Things that I learned in this interview, “Discover to your self which  or what you are capable to do and where you are good at.”, “On choosing a career you must be 101% sure to that career”, and “Always love what you are doing.”

WEEK # 3: PUBLIC RELATIONS

Last Saturday September 3, 2011 a seminar held at Lyceum of the Philippines - Laguna about Marketing and hosted by Ms. Vanessa.

The purpose of this seminar is for us to gain more knowledge about Marketing and served as an eye opener for us to the real deal that evolve in business industry. For me this seminars ended well and successful because of the speaker, she was very entertaining and approachable. The way she talk and deliver her speech was very clear and she always give a joke, but kidding aside she shared to us information that we need to understand our chosen industry.

In the seminar I learned about this “Corporate Image”, which are refers to how a corporation is perceived. It is a generally accepted image of what a company stands for.  A corporation’s image is not solely created by the company. Other contributors to a company’s image could include news media, journalists, labor unions, environmental organizations, and other NGOs. “Public Relations”, abbreviated as PR,is the actions of a corporation, store, government, individual, etc., in promoting goodwill between itself and the public, the community, employees, and customers. It involves the cultivation of favorable relations for organizations and products with its key publics through the use of a variety of communications channels and tools. “The Viral and Direct Marketing”, which refers to the marketing strategies of a company to indorse and sell their products, Viral marketing, viral advertising, or marketing buzz are buzzwords referring to marketing techniques that use pre-existing social networks to produce increases in brand awareness or to achieve other marketing objectives (such as product sales) through self-replicating viral processes, analogous to the spread of viruses or computer viruses. It can be delivered by word of mouth or enhanced by the network effects of the Internet.   Viral marketing may take the form of video clips, interactive Flash games, advergames, ebooks, brandable software, images, or text messages. Direct marketing is a channel-agnostic form of advertising that allows businesses and nonprofits to communicate straight to the customer, with advertising techniques such as mobile messaging, email, interactive consumer websites, online display ads, fliers, catalog distribution, promotional letters, and outdoor advertising. Lastly the topic which intrigue me most is the “Undercover Advertising”, which a company will hire actors. Then the actors will deceived the people for them to advertize their product, for example they will act like foreigners and they will ask some people to take them pictures, the person will not know that the actor already indorse their product which is the camera. For me it was a great strategy, but in  the eye of the moral people this strategy was very rude by deceiving other people. “For you to win you must deceived first your allies for you to deceived your enemy”(wala lang tnype ko lang^^)

The aim of marketing is to know and understand the customer so well the product or service fits him and sells itself.”

” I WILL ENJOY THIS LONG WEEKEND”

After this exhausted previews weeks, this long weekend awaits^^,My plans actually I don’t have any, because for me everyday is like a usual days.

I will be enjoying this weekend by; having some rest, listening on my favorite musics together with my little cousin at the same time playing with her, and watching some tutorial videos regards on video and photo editing„,

I don’t have reactions about the seminar because I wasn’t able to attend it. Sorry for not attending the seminar, I really regret it for real cause i know that it will really helps me. I wasn’t able to wake up early and earlier there was a strong rain„I know its my fault that’s why I want to apologize.

WEEK 1: SHOW WHAT YOU’VE GOT

Living in this real world, there is no room for the word “EXCEPTION” and “COMPLAIN” tasks and responsibilities are need to be done in a right way and at the right time.

Having two members in one team is not a big issue for me, I can work with any one as long as they accept me as they member, cause what really matter is that i can participate and contribute to the group. After all I must not  complain at all because it is may professor’s decisions and as a student I must accept it. For me this decisions will actually work, it will serve as a test to our limitation on doing things.

I used to work alone or prefer to work alone, because I don’t like the feeling of being blamed on things, and I also don’t like to feel that other people may think that “I know this I know that”(yung nag bibidabidahan). Also I don’t want to be dependent on other people. I rather work alone and having a fail grade, than to get high a grade but knowing to my self that I didn’t exert an effort on doing it. “YOU CAN HAVE THE GRADE BUT NOT THE KNOWLEDGE”

I have this experienced before, when I was in my first course. We are grouped and in our laboratory we need to cook certain dishes. Every one doing their job, others peeling the ingredients, others preparing for meet or pork, every one busy doing their task except me. You know why?? because they all took the task, and they left me nothing. After we are finished on preparing the dishes they let me introduce and explain the dish that we are prepared. Do you think I can explain that dish?knowing that I don’t have any idea how they prepared it??See„oh i remember they left me task WASHING THE PLATES”. kidding aside, My point here is that ” KUNG MAG SASAMA-SAMA LAHAT NG MARURUNONG MAG KAKA AGAWAN NA NG GAGAWIN MAY MAG MAMAGALING PA, PANO MATUTUTO YUNG IBA NA WALA PANG MASYADONG ALAM??”

I think that is the reason why our prof, group us in smaller number for us to exceed our limitations, to built confidence in our self, not to rely on other people, and especially to  “SHOW WHAT WE’VE GOT”

INFORMATION SYSTEM IN BUSINESS

Every companies have their own Information System department which responsible for computers, networking and data management. Other companies refer to the department as IT (Information Technology) and MIS (Management Information Services). Information systems support different types of decisions at different levels of the organizational hierarchy.

It is a interface between people, organization, and technology that when putting it together will create applications that will help on searching and developing products in the same time helps on improving market strategies, like how do we think about technology on our company? or how do we make sure that we are designing effective system? That is the power of Information System on a business.

There are many types of IS depends on the variety of information or decisions that a companies needs to analyze which may refers as: Executive Support Systems, Management Information Systems, Decision-Support Systems, Knowledge Management Systems, Transaction Processing Systems, Office Automation Systems.

An Executive Support System (“ESS”) is designed to help senior management make strategic decisions. It gathers, analyses and summarises the key internal and external information used in the business.

A good way to think about an ESS is to imagine the senior management team in an aircraft cockpit - with the instrument panel showing them the status of all the key business activities. ESS typically involve lots of data analysis and modelling tools such as “what-if” analysis to help strategic decision-making.

A management information system (“MIS”) is mainly concerned with internal sources of information. MIS usually take data from the transaction processing systems (see below) and summarise it into a series of management reports.

MIS reports tend to be used by middle management and operational supervisors.

Decision-support systems (“DSS”) are specifically designed to help management make decisions in situations where there is uncertainty about the possible outcomes of those decisions. DSS comprise tools and techniques to help gather relevant information and analyse the options and alternatives. DSS often involves use of complex spreadsheet and databases to create “what-if” models.

Knowledge Management Systems (“KMS”) exist to help businesses create and share information. These are typically used in a business where employees create new knowledge and expertise - which can then be shared by other people in the organisation to create further commercial opportunities. Good examples include firms of lawyers, accountants and management consultants.

KMS are built around systems which allow efficient categorisation and distribution of knowledge. For example, the knowledge itself might be contained in word processing documents, spreadsheets, PowerPoint presentations. internet pages or whatever. To share the knowledge, a KMS would use group collaboration systems such as an intranet.

As the name implies, Transaction Processing Systems (“TPS”) are designed to process routine transactions efficiently and accurately. A business will have several (sometimes many) TPS; for example:

- Billing systems to send invoices to customers
- Systems to calculate the weekly and monthly payroll and tax payments
- Production and purchasing systems to calculate raw material requirements
- Stock control systems to process all movements into, within and out of the business.

Office Automation Systems are systems that try to improve the productivity of employees who need to process data and information. Perhaps the best example is the wide range of software systems that exist to improve the productivity of employees working in an office (e.g. Microsoft Office XP) or systems that allow employees to work from home or whilst on the move.

To be successful in today’s competitive marketplace, organizations need access to a business information system that produces accurate and targeted information about customers, market intelligence and competitive intelligence.

Business as Ambition

Got things you want to do? Beliefs you’re passionate about? Goals you’ve got to achieve? Business makes things happen and affects every part of our society. Whatever you want to do, understanding business will help you achieve it.

Choosing a business can be  the hardest part of our life„creating your own business or associating on a one business company. An economic system in which goods and services are exchanged for one another or money, on the basis of their perceived worth. Every business requires some form ofinvestment and a sufficient number of customers to whom its output can be sold at profit on a consistent basis.

For me engaging on a business or applying for a job on a company business„you shouldchoose a business that is your passion in life„business is not only to earn money, but also to enjoy your chosen profession and career in life.

Best of MMA

Actually…I’m already a college graduate with a course of Hotel and Restaurant Management, in a University in San Pablo City. I decided to study again, because I feel that being a hotelier and a hospitality type of person is not my thing. Also I’m a shy type of person and I don’t talk that much, and in this industry you need or must be approachable, shameless(confident) and it’s not me so I’m ended up on quitting„ anyway I only took this course because of my friend.

On choosing my second course„being a teacher hits my mind„because I just want to earn money hehehe. But I realize that “You don’t have to choose something just for you to live, but rather you chose  that because it is your way of living”. Also I don’t have the guts to teach and to be in front of many people… I just only want to be surrounded by cute and pretty young ladies…hehehe (so pervert)

My second choice is Fine-arts because Arts’ really is my passion. The only reason why I didn’t or I haven’t took that course is because there is no available course of Fine-arts here in Laguna. My friend told me that in Lyceum they offer Fine-arts course so I immediately went to that school, and I found out that there is no fine-arts course at all. But they have this “Multimedia Arts”„,in my thoughts it still deals with arts so i take the course Multimedia arts.

At first I really really really don’t have any idea about this this course, I only know is the word Arts. But when I found out what Multimedia Arts really is, I started to like and to love this course.

Being a Multimedia arts students made me realize and teach me lot of things about this high tech world. I don’t have any idea about this editing stuff, digital way of drawing, design and more. That’s why I become more interested about this course.

Pinoy’s SONA 2011
“Daang Matuwid Simula ng Pagbabago”

Honestly I’m not interested on watching this SONA„it so boring„but as a curious Filipino citizen I lend some of my time to watch it. To know the present situation of our country, to know what are changes and improbments happen under his administration.

The Wang-wang policy this one regulation has become the symbol of change, not just in our streets, but even in our collective attitude. “ It symbolize abuse of authority, it was commonly used by the public officials to violate traffic laws. Instead of gratifying their rules they are the one’s whose violating it and acted like kings .

Just this year, we can say that there are only few hungry pinoys are being reported.Self-rated hunger has gone down from 20.5% in March to 15.1% this June—equivalent to a million Filipino families who used to go hungry, but who now say they eat properly every day.”

Except on the coffe issue, the most unforgetable words that mark on my mind is “to be proud and thankful to our Filipino workers”
“Na pag may nakita kang isang guro lapitan mo at sabihan ng thank you,pag may nakita kang ng wawalis sa kalsada sabihan mo ng thank you„and so on„”

to end this blog here is my pavorite part that I qouted:

Let us stop pulling our fellow man down. Let us put an end to our crab mentality. Let us make the effort to recognize the good that is being done.”

“If you see something right, do not think twice—praise it.”

“And so, to the Filipino nation, my Bosses who have steered us toward this day: Thank you very much for the change that is now upon us.”

“The Philippines and the Filipino people are, finally, truly alive.”

“The World Ends with You”

(This Game is available for Nintendo DS )

As a Gamer, anime, and J-pop lover this game captured my attention and my emotions. This game used the elements of Japanese youth culture, using upbeats, mellow, and rock soundtracks that gives life to the game. Also it feature a lot of unique style and high fashioned wardrobes. Show the modern-day Shibuya. The other things that made this game more interesting is that you need to think and well understand the story for you to fully understand the game, unlike the other game that you can predict what will gonna happen.( that so boring right?)

here are some info and plot of the story that I found:

The Main Characters,(I write their names in English form and way) Neku Sakuraba an anti-social teenage boy who claims he does not “get” people, and rarely interacts with others.(The Main Character) He is a type of boy who don’t give his trust that easily, also lost some part of his memory. Shiki Misaki,  a teenage girl who takes on the form of her best friend; her physical appearance was her price of entry for the Game. Yoshiya Kiryu, is an intelligent and sly teenage boy, who prefers to be called Joshua. Daisukenojo Bito, an ex-Reaper who calls himself “Beat”. Beat became a Reaper to find a way to bring his younger sister, Raimu Bito back to life.(Beat doesn’t like to call him Daisukenojo)  Raimu Bito, also called Rhyme, Rhyme had sacrificed herself to save her brother from a Noise attack.(She Became a Battle Pin) play the game to know the other Character.

Setting

The game takes place in a fictional version of the Shibuya shopping district in Tokyo, Japan. While everyday life goes on in the Realground (RG), the chosen dead are brought to an alternate plane of existence called the Underground (UG). The UG is also the venue for the Reapers’ Game.   By offering their most treasured possession to enter the Game, the dead (players) gain the chance to contest for the prize: to be brought back to life or to transcend to a higher form of spiritual existence. Most of those who choose to transcend become Reapers, the opponents of players in future Games.   Lasting a week, each Game is a contest to judge the worth of humani  ty. Players set out to accomplish objectives under the rules created by the Composer, who is a god-like entity who maintains Shibuya. Another Reaper, the Conductor, tasks other Reapers to obstruct the players’ efforts. Failure to complete a mission will disperse the mind and spirit of the player or Reaper, thus erasing his or her existence.

A player in the UG is invisible to the living in the RG, though one can sometimes read and influence their thoughts. The UG is frequented by creatures called “Noise”, which are attracted by the negative feelings of the living. To progress in the Reapers’ Game, players are often required to defeat Noise by killing or “erasing” them. However, each Noise exists in two “zones” simultaneously, and can only be defeated by two players fighting the Noise from separate zones; Players are therefore required to form a pact with another player to survive the Noise. Players receive assignments via text messages sent to their cell phones, and their right hands are imprinted with a countdown indicating the time left in the mission. After a day’s mission is complete, the remaining players find themselves at the start of the next day’s mission, having no sense of the intervening time in between.

Story

The game’s story follows Neku over the course of the three weeks that he plays the Game, paired with partners Shiki, Joshua, and Beat for each week, respectively. Neku is confused at first, lacking knowledge of how he died or how he arrived at the UG. As he develops friendships with his partners and starts to understand the rules of the Game. After the first week, only Shiki is allowed to return to the living, and she promises to meet Neku at the statue of Hachiko. He also recovers his entry fee, which was his memories, except for the events leading up to his death. However, Shiki has become what Neku values most, and she is used as his new entry fee for the second week. During the second week he recalls small details of his death; eventually, he recognizes that he was shot at by Sho Minamimoto, one of the Reapers he faced during the Game. At the end of the second week, Joshua seemingly sacrifices himself to save Neku from a explosion created by Minamimoto.

Since Joshua was actually alive, the Game is nullified and Neku is forced to replay the game a third time. His entry fee this time is all of the other players, meaning Neku cannot form any pacts and stands no chance against the Noise. However, Beat immediately defects from the Reapers and rejoins Neku. Neku and Beat find that the Reapers and the entire population of Shibuya are wearing special red pins that cause them to think the same harmonious thoughts. Without any missions to complete, the two venture to the fabled “Shibuya River”, which Joshua was looking for during the second week. At the river, they find Megumi Kitaniji, the Game’s Conductor. Kitaniji explains that he created the red pins in an attempt to remake Shibuya, which the Composer challenged him to do; if he fails, both he (for losing) and Shibuya will be erased.

At that moment, Joshua reappears and reveals himself to be the Composer. Joshua returns the missing part of Neku’s memory of death: Joshua himself shot Neku, choosing him to be his proxy in his challenge with Kitaniji. Minamimoto, who had been trying to usurp the position of Composer, was trying to kill Joshua in his weakened state as a human. After failing to defeat Neku by using his friends against him, Joshua gives Neku one last challenge: To fire upon Joshua to determine the fate of Shibuya. Neku is too conflicted to make a choice, and is shot down by Joshua. Neku finds himself once again at the scramble crossing, confused by events, but alive this time.

The game’s credits show scenes seven days later in the RG. As Neku walks from Udagawa to Hachiko to meet Beat, Rhyme, and Shiki, he discusses how the past three weeks have changed him for the better. In a statement directed at an absent Joshua, Neku says that although he won’t forgive him for what he has done, he trusts him. Neku then asks if Joshua will be present at Hachiko as well. Secret reports that can be obtained by completing additional missions after beating the game reveal that Joshua, after seeing the change in personality of Neku over the weeks of playing the game, decides to spare Shibuya, now believing the city to be ideal.

Every game has Values and lessons to be learned, like what Neku’s said on the game ” I got my value so you can keep yours” God created each of us with unique appearance, and personality that we can claimed as our own, so we must respect and accept each of our worth. Be proud on what you have, be proud of who you are, it is not how people look at you but it is how you look at your self. learn to Trust people, there are times in our life that we need someone to lean on,some friends to share our problems with. Friendship, when you found people who accept you from who you really are, keep and love them the way you loved  your self. True friends are hard to be found, difficult to leave, and impossible to forget.
